Abstract
Korean Drama Nevertheless is a television drama series with a romantic genre with Yu-nabi and Park Jeon as the main characters in the drama. Tells about Friends With Benefits between Yu-Nabi, a Fine Arts Student who doesn't believe in love due to the trauma of love in the past and Park Jeon, a Fine Arts student who doesn't want to be in a Statusless Relationship (Commitment). This study aims to find out how the meaning of the student audience in Surabaya on the Friends With Benefits relationship depicted in the Korean Drama Nevertheless. This study uses a qualitative method with Stuart Hall's Reception Analysis approach which divides the audience's interpretation into three positions, namely the Dominant Hegemonic Position, the Negotiation Position and the Opposition Position. The results of this study show that of the eight informants there are two informants in the position of Dominant Hegemony, three informants in the Negotiation position and three informants in the Opposition position.
