Abstract
The aims of this study was to obtain the composition of the planting medium (soil: compost: goat manure) and to determine the best type of seeds source for konjac cultivation. This research is a factorial study with 2 (two) factors arranged in a Randomized Block Design (RAK), where the first factor is the type of seed source (B) which consists of 3 kinds of seed sources, namely: B1 = Seed, B2 = Bulbil, and B3 = Bulbs. The second factor is the composition of planting media (T) of soil, compost, and goat manure consisting of 5 levels, namely: T1=1:1:1, T2=1:2:1, T3=1:1:2, T4=1 :2:3, and T5=1:3:2. Parameters observed included: plant height, crown diameter, stem diameter, number of bulbs per plant, bulb weight per plant, weight and diameter of terminal bulb, active growth period per shoot and active plant growth period, number of shoots, bulb weight, tuber diameter, as well as increase in tuber weight for planting and harvesting.The results showed that the use of seed sources had a significant effect on all observation parameters except bulbil diameter. The best source of seeds come from B2 = bulbil. The use of the composition of the growing media did not significantly affect all parameters. The interaction between seedling sources and composition of growing media had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height at the age of 7 MST and 9MST. The combination treatment of seed source from tubers and the composition of planting media (soil: compost: goat manure) with a ratio of 1:1:2 (B3T2) and 1:2:1 (B3T3) resulted in the best konjac plant heights aged 7MST and 9MST.
