Abstract
Malang City is the second-largest city after Surabaya in East Java province and has a relatively high population. Economic figures in Malang City are also increasing every year, this has an impact on the development of business in Malang City because the population which in general can open their own jobs, the data is strengthened by data on the increase in the economic growth in Malang City was recorded by the Central Statistics Agency Malang City. Business developments can have an impact on the increasing need for containers/offices to support the data on the increase in the rate of economic growth in the city of Malang. This means the community's need for land is currently getting higher. And result in a reduced supply of vacant land in Malang City. Construction of shophouses and office houses that are not controlled can hurt traffic conditions as well as cause the structure of the city to be not ideal. Plus, currently, the city of Malang itself has not yet had vertical rental office services. As a solution to existing problems, a rental office was designed in Malang City which is expected to be able to provide a forum/office to support the increase in numbers economy in the city of Malang and can be a solution to the problem of reducing the availability of land in Malang City by applying vertical buildings so that the utilization of land can be utilized as much as possible. Biophilic design is a concept that connects the relationship between the natural environment with user psychology (human) biophilic design has 14 patterns that can be used to create designs with nature. the use of the concept of biophilic design in the interior of the building aims to create a comfortable condition or atmosphere, where users do not feel emotions externally and also stress and can add to the user's creative ideas. Therefore, through a biophilic design approach, it is hoped that rental office buildings in Malang will be using this tangible metaphors design method will be able to provide an atmosphere comfortable, quiet, and peaceful for the tenants/users.
