Abstract
The number of elderly people in East Java has increased every year. A symbol of the welfare of an area is measured by how many elderly people live in the area. Batu City is one of the areas in the highlands of East Java province with the second highest number of elderly population with 40.67%. The elderly need housing/facilities that meet the standards of space or friendly buildings according to the Batu city environment and also designs that pay attention to the behavior of each elderly. The Batu city environment has a supportive atmosphere for the elderly by presenting a home atmosphere to make them feel comfortable and at home to spend their old age. The design of this nursing home aims to produce a design for a nursing home in Batu city that meets the facilities, space requirements and the environment around the building that is friendly to the elderly through an architectural approach to behavior, which presents interaction among residents and a comfortable and safe home atmosphere that can make the elderly feel comfortable. to spend old age in a nursing home. Because most of the nursing homes at this time have not paid much attention to this matter, there are still many elderly people who experience accidents while doing their activities at the nursing home.
