Abstract

Local garlic (Allium sativum L) is a horticultural plant that is currently less attractive to the community because it has a small size compared to imported onions so that genetic traits need to be improved so that it becomes a superior plant one of the ways is by irradiation of gamma rays ⁶⁰Co. Doses of gamma irradiation treated on plants have different sizes, therefore it is necessary to orient the doses on the plants to determine the optimal dose range that causes mutations in plants. This research was conducted in the village of Tawangagro Karangploso, Malang starting from February to April 2019. This research was a factorial one-factor experiment compiled using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The research factor was gamma ray irradiation in Lumbu Kuning garlic plants at 1-10 Gy irradiation doses at 1 Gy intervals. These factors consist of: R0 = No radiation / 0 Gy (control), R1 = gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 1 Gy, R2 = gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 2 Gy, R3 = gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 3 Gy, R4 = Ray irradiation gamma with a dose of 4 Gy, R5 = gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 5 Gy, R6 = gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 6 Gy, R7 = gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 7 Gy, R8 = gamma ray irradiation at a dose of 8 Gy, R9 = Irradiated gamma ray gamma at a dose of 9 Gy, R10 = Irradiation of gamma rays at a dose of 10 Gy. The results of this study indicate the LD20 and LD50 values of garlic plants of Yellow Lumbu variety are 2.82169 Gy and 5.19922 Gy which are the optimal dosage ranges that can be used as basic irradiation doses for further research to obtain superior varieties of garlic Lumbu Kuning Varieties that can be planted in lowland. Keywords : Superior Varieties, Lumbu Kuning, Irradiation Of Gamma Ray ⁶⁰Co, LD50, LD20
