Abstract
This study aims to measure young people’s interest in agricultural sector jobs, analyze the factors influencing their interest, and formulate efforts to increase young people’s interest in agricultural sector jobs in Karanggeneng Subdistrict, Lamongan Regency. The study was conducted in Jagran Village and Banjarmadu Village, involving 90 young people aged 16–30 years. Respondents were selected using proportionate random sampling. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were analyzed using a Likert scale to measure youth interest, binary logistic regression to analyze the factors influencing interest, and descriptive analysis to formulate efforts to increase youth interest. The results indicate that the proportions of youth who are interested and uninterested in agricultural sector jobs are equal. Firsthand experience and involvement in agricultural activities were prominent aspects among interested youth. The results of the binary logistic regression analysis show that family size, land area, educational level, age, and gender simultaneously have a significant effect on youth interest. Partially, gender has a significant effect on youth interest, whereas family size, land area, educational level, and age do not have significant effects. Efforts to increase youth interest should focus on improving the image of agricultural work, developing skills, utilizing agricultural technology, increasing youth involvement, and strengthening family and institutional support. Keywords: Youth Interest, Agricultural Sector, Binary Logistic Regression, Interest Enhancement Efforts.
