Abstract
Saving behavior is an important aspect of financial management. However, people in East Surabaya continue to face various challenges in developing good saving habits. This study aims to analyze the effects of *peer influence* and *self-control* on *saving behavior*, with *saving intention* as a mediating variable among people in East Surabaya. This study employs a quantitative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires. The research sample consists of people in East Surabaya who meet the established research criteria and were selected using the *purposive sampling* method. Data analysis was conducted using *Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling* (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results indicate that *peer influence* and *self-control* contribute to *saving behavior*. Furthermore, *saving intention* mediates the effect of *peer influence* on *saving behavior*, but does not mediate the effect of *self-control* on *saving behavior*. These findings suggest that peer influence can affect saving behavior both directly and indirectly through the formation of saving intentions. Meanwhile, *self-control* can encourage saving behavior directly without necessarily involving *saving intention* as a mediating variable.
