Abstract

Digital investment development has broadened Generation Z participation in the capital market, while easier access has also made investment decisions increasingly connected to psychological factors. This study aims to analyze the effects of Loss Aversion and Fear of Missing Out on Investment Decisions and the moderating role of Risk Tolerance among Generation Z investors using digital investment applications in Surabaya. A quantitative approach was applied using purposive sampling involving 140 respondents, and the data were analyzed through PLS-SEM using SmartPLS. The findings show that Loss Aversion negatively affects Investment Decisions, whereas Fear of Missing Out has a positive effect. Risk Tolerance weakens the negative effect of Loss Aversion on Investment Decisions and strengthens the positive effect of Fear of Missing Out on Investment Decisions. These findings emphasize the importance of psychological factors and risk acceptance in understanding Generation Z investment decisions in a digital investment environment.
