Abstract
Cayenne pepper is included in the category of horticultural commodities from the Solanaceae family which has high economic significance. Market demand for cayenne pepper is increasing, in line with the rapid rate of population increase. Efforts to support increasing crop productivity and quality by optimizing the composition of planting media. The purpose of this study is to determine the interaction between the composition of planting media and LOF for the growth and yield of cayenne pepper plants. This study uses a factorial Complete Random Design (RAL). The first factor of the composition of the planting medium consists of 4 levels, namely M0: Soil (control), M1: Soil: Charcoal husk 1:1/polybag (v:v), M2: Soil: Goat manure 1:1/polybag (v:v), M3: Soil: Charcoal husk: Goat manure 1:1:1/polybag (v:v:v). The second factor is the concentration of POC of banana fronds which consists of 4 levels, namely P0: control, P1: 40 ml/L POC banana fronds, P2: 60 ml/L LOFbanana fronds, P3: 80 ml/L POC banana fronds. The results showed that a single treatment of the composition of the soil planting medium: Goat Manure (1:1) had a significant effect on plant height, flower emergence, number of flowers, number of fruits per harvest period or total, weight of fruit per harvest period or total, and fruit set. A single treatment of POC concentration of banana fronds of 80ml/L showed no significant difference in all observed parameters.
