Abstract
This study was motivated by the importance of implementing the Internet of Things (IoT) in hydroponic melon cultivation to improve farming efficiency and productivity. However, the level of IoT adoption among farmers remains varied. This study aimed to identify farmers' perceptions of IoT, analyze the level of innovation adoption, and formulate strategies to strengthen IoT adoption at Melonponik Jombang. The research employed a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 15 partner farmers and in-depth interviews. Qualitative data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman (1994), the level of innovation adoption was analyzed using a scoring method based on Rogers' innovation adoption stages, and strengthening strategies were formulated using SWOT analysis. The results showed that farmers generally had positive perceptions of IoT. IoT adopters perceived benefits in terms of time efficiency, easier monitoring, and improved crop quality, while non-adopters were still concerned about technical capability, economic conditions, and investment risks. Most farmers were still at the evaluation stage of adoption. The recommended strategy is the Strength–Opportunity (SO) strategy through optimizing greenhouse facilities and IoT technology, enhancing training and assistance, utilizing government support, and strengthening partnerships. Keywords: Internet of Things, Innovation Adoption, Farmers' Perception, Hydroponic Melon
