Abstract

This study investigates the utilization of cow manure and coffee grounds as raw materials for organic fertilizer production through anaerobic fermentation using PROMI bioactivator. The research aims to determine the effects of fermentation time (3, 6, 9, 12, and 15 days) and coffee grounds addition (13%, 16%, 19%, 22%, and 25%) on fertilizer quality, particularly carbon (C), nitrogen (N), C/N ratio, and pH. The fermentation process helps microorganisms decompose organic matter, resulting in changes in carbon and nitrogen content and a decrease in the C/N ratio. The results indicate that fermentation time and the proportion of coffee grounds influence the quality of the organic fertilizer produced. The use of cow manure and coffee grounds has the potential to produce useful organic fertilizer while reducing organic waste and supporting environmentally friendly waste management and sustainable agriculture. However, confirmation of the optimum conditions and compliance with Indonesian National Standards (SNI) requires quantitative test results.
