Abstract
The Bridge Project in Situbondo, on the border of East Java Province, is located in an area that has geographical conditions with increased risk of earthquake movement vulnerability. Based on the value of earthquake acceleration data from previous studies, the value of PGA(Peak Ground Acceleration) in Situbondo Regency has occurred an increase from 0.271g in 2016 to a figure of 0.316g 10 years later in 2026, by 17%. The main objective of this study is to ensure the stability of bridge underground earth retaining walls of braced and gravity type can withstand varying earthquakes. Value The earthquake load value refers to the corrected PGA value of earthquake horizontal load(kh) of value0.2g, 0.3g, 0.316g, 0.4g planned based on the projected value and earthquake data in Situbondo. In this Study will be carried out the analysis of calculations manually and digitally based on Plaxis 2D software. The manual calculation resulted in the conclusion that the earth retaining wall installed under the Situbondo bridge is in a stable condition with the result of the safety factor(SF) against rolling of 2.77, against sliding of 2.98, and against collapse of 19.39, all three safety factors of the manual calculation have reached the minimum value of safety factor in SNI 8460:2017. After the manual calculation has also been done analysis digitally based on Plaxis 2D software which resulted in a global safe factor figure of 1.606 which has also achieved a value that exceeds the minimum of 1.50. Plaxis 2D software based analysis has also been carried out for the stability of earth retaining walls against several variations of earthquake loads of 0.2g 0.3g, 0.3153g and 0.4g. Against these several earthquake load variations the soil retaining wall is concluded to still be able to withstand stable secfara with the resulting safe factor numbers of 1.395, 1.294, 1.279 and 1.200 then it can be concluded that the analysis results prove that the safety factor number of the soil retaining wall has reached and exceeded the minimum provision of 1.11 in SNI 8460:2017.
