Abstract

Air quality in DKI Jakarta is classified as poor and poses serious impacts on health, the environment, and the economy. This condition is reflected, among other things, in the consistently high concentration of PM2.5, fine particulate matter smaller than 2.5 micrometers in diameter originating from motor vehicle emissions, industrial activities, and fossil fuel combustion, which persistently exceeds the national air quality standard. The dynamics of air quality are influenced by complex interactions between pollutant parameters and meteorological conditions, the patterns of which need to be identified. This study aims to identify the association patterns between meteorological conditions and pollutant parameters affecting air quality in DKI Jakarta using the Frequent Pattern Growth (FP Growth) algorithm, based on Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) data and meteorological data from five monitoring stations for the period January 2024 November 2025, obtained from the Satu Data Jakarta portal. The study was conducted through the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) stages, comprising data selection, preprocessing, transformation, data mining using FP Growth, and evaluation using support, confidence, and lift metrics. The results show that PM2.5 consistently emerged as the most dominant item associated with the MODERATE air quality category at four of the five stations, while at the DKI4 Lubang Buaya station, high air temperature replaced PM2.5 as the dominant item. With a minimum support of 0.6 and minimum confidence of 0.7, the strongest association rule was found at the DKI1 Bundaran HI station, with a confidence value of 0.90. All association rules generated across the five stations had lift values above 1, indicating a positive relationship between items. These findings are expected to serve as a consideration for the DKI Jakarta Government in formulating more targeted air pollution control policies.
