Abstract
The Women Farmers’ Group (KWT) is a community organization composed of women or homemakers. These women farmers’ groups serve not only as social groups but also as productive units capable of increasing household income The Kirani Women Farmers’ Group in Blitar City cultivates mint, a plant with many benefits that is relatively easy to grow because it does not require a large area of land; however, the Kirani Women Farmers’ Group has experienced a decline in mint production. This has led to a decrease in income from the sale of mint leaves. This study aims to analyze the role of the mint-growing women’s farming group in increasing household income; identify the sources of household income for the mint-growing women’s farming group; analyze the extent to which the income of the group’s members contributes to household income; analyze efforts to develop the mint cultivation business to increase the contribution of household income for group members; and analyze the level of household welfare among the women in the mint-growing women’s farming group at KWT “Kirani” in Pakunden Village, Sukorejo Subdistrict, Blitar. This study was conducted at the “Kirani” Women Farmers’ Group in Pakunden Village, Sukorejo Subdistrict, Blitar. The sampling method used was a census, and the respondents in this study were all members of the Kirani Women Farmers’ Group. The analytical methods used were descriptive analysis, income contribution analysis, and GSR (Good Service Ratio). The research results show that the overall role of the KWT received a score of 3.2, falling into the “fairly high” category. The sources of household income for members of the Kirani KWT include the husband’s income, the wife’s income, and other sources of income. The contribution of KWT members’ income to household income, at 3%, falls into the “low” category. Efforts to develop the mint cultivation business to increase the income contribution of household members of the “Kirani” Women’s Farming Group include optimizing backyard land through vertical farming techniques and expanding market access through digital marketing. The welfare level of KWT “Kirani” households, at 0.52, falls into the “more prosperous” category. Keywords: Women Farmers’ Group; Mint; Role; Income; Welfare.
