Abstract

This report documents the Field Work Practice (PKL) undertaken independently by the author at PT. Winnicode Garuda Teknologi within the Full-Stack Web Developer division. The project aimed to develop a web-based news portal named "WeNews," designed to deliver up-to-date and credible information to the public. During implementation, the author utilized various modern technologies, including the Laravel framework (employing the Model-View-Controller/MVC architecture), public API integration, interface design using Figma, and the implementation of security measures and input validation. The development process followed a phased approach, encompassing requirements analysis, system and UI/UX design, backend and frontend implementation, API consumption, and final deployment to the Railway platform. The resulting website features capabilities for general users to read news and post comments, alongside an admin dashboard for managing news content and user comments. While the use of public APIs offered flexibility, it also presented challenges regarding data quality and completeness. Through this program, the author gained a comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle and professional collaboration, while also preparing to meet the challenges of the digital industry.
