Abstract
The manufacturing industry plays an important role in supporting regional economic development and creating employment opportunities. However, the level of labor absorption in the manufacturing sector may be influenced by various economic and labor market factors. This study aims to examine the effects of economic growth, the number of manufacturing industries, and the labor force participation rate on manufacturing industry labor absorption in Probolinggo Regency. This research employs a quantitative approach using secondary time-series data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Probolinggo regency. The data are analyzed using multiple linear regression with classical assumption tests, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The findings are expected to provide empirical evidence regarding the factors influencing manufacturing industry labor absorption. The results may serve as a reference for formulating policies to strengthen the manufacturing sector and expand employment opportunities in Probolinggo Regency.
