Abstract

Shallot productivity is strongly influenced by farmers' ability to apply appropriate cultivation techniques, yet it remains fluctuating due to farmers' limited knowledge and skills. The Field School Program was developed as an effort to enhance farmers' capacity through participatory learning conducted directly in the field. This study aims to analyze the difference in shallot productivity between farmers who participated in the Field School and those who did not, as well as to analyze the influence of the indicators of planning, implementation, mentoring, and application on the productivity of participating farmers. This research was conducted in Ngumpak Dalem Village, Bojonegoro Regency, involving 60 respondents consisting of 30 participating farmers (selected through a census technique) and 30 non-participating farmers (selected through random sampling). Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test to examine differences in productivity between the two groups, and multiple linear regression to test the influence of the four indicators on productivity. The results show that the shallot productivity of Field School participants was significantly higher than that of non-participants. Regression results indicate that all four indicators had a positive and significant effect on productivity, with planning contributing the most and application contributing the least. These findings confirm that the Field School has a positive impact on productivity and can serve as an effective strategy for improving the performance of shallot farmers. Keywords: Field School, productivity, shallot, multiple linear regression, t-test
