Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of population size, economic growth, and the City Minimum Wage (UMK) on the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in Surabaya City during the 2010–2025 period. The study employs a quantitative approach using secondary time-series data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The analysis method used is multiple linear regression, incorporating classical assumption testing and hypothesis testing via the coefficient of determination, the F-test, and the t-test. The results indicate that, individually, population size has a negative but insignificant effect on the TPT. Economic growth has a negative and significant effect on the TPT, with a regression coefficient of -0.335 and a significance level of 0.015; this implies that a 1 percent increase in economic growth can reduce the TPT by 0.335 percent, assuming other variables remain constant. Meanwhile, the UMK has a negative but insignificant effect on the TPT. However, simultaneously, population size, economic growth, and the UMK have a significant effect on the TPT. The R² value indicates that 49.6 percent of the variation in the TPT can be explained by these three variables. These findings underscore the importance of fostering inclusive, sustainable, and job-creation-oriented economic growth in Surabaya City. Keywords: Population Size, Economic Growth, City Minimum Wage, Open Unemployment Rate.
