Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT), Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK), and Economic Growth on Income Distribution Inequality in the Tapal Kuda Region of East Java Province during the 2019–2024 period. This study employs a quantitative approach using panel data covering 9 regencies/cities over 6 years, resulting in 54 observations. The analysis was conducted using panel data regression, with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) selected as the best model. The results show that TPT, UMK, and Economic Growth have a positive and significant effect both partially and simultaneously on Income Distribution Inequality. The Adjusted R-squared value of 0.449463 indicates that 44.95% of the variation in income distribution inequality can be explained by the three independent variables, while the remaining 55.05% is explained by other factors outside the model. These findings highlight the importance of increasing employment opportunities, ensuring equitable wage policies, and promoting inclusive economic growth to support more equitable income distribution in the Tapal Kuda Region.
