Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effects of poverty rates, the City Minimum Wage (UMK), and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) per capita on income inequality in Kediri City. The study uses secondary time-series data for the 2011–2024 period obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Kediri City and the BPS of East Java Province. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with EViews 13 after performing classical assumption tests, including tests for normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. The results show that the poverty rate has a positive and significant effect on income inequality; the City Minimum Wage has a negative and significant effect; while GRDP per capita has a negative but insignificant effect on income inequality. Simultaneously, all three variables have a significant effect on income inequality. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.96 indicates that 96% of the variation in income inequality can be explained by the poverty rate, the City Minimum Wage, and GRDP per capita, while the remaining 4% is influenced by other factors outside the model. This study is expected to serve as a basis for local governments in formulating policies to reduce income inequality in Kediri City.
