Abstract
Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is considered one of the most economically improtant horticultural crops in indonesia. Demand for these commodities keeps increasing, yet its production has been decreasing. The low productivity of shallot influenced by the characteristics of their relatively shallow roots and limited absorption capacity, which reduces their ability to take up water from the soil. This problem can be solved by providing nutrients through phosporus and potassium fertilizers, which can stimulate root growth. The experiment was conducted using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two treatment factors. The first factor was the dose of phosphorus fertilizer (Ultradap), comprising 3 levels: 100 kg/ha (P1), 200 kg/ha (P2), and 300 kg/ha (P3). The second factor was the dose of potassium fertilizer (KCl), comprising 4 levels: 125 kg/ha (K1), 175 kg/ha (K2), 225 kg/ha (K3), 275 kg/ha (K4). The results indicated that the combined application of 100 kg/ha Ultradap and 225 kg/ha KCl significantly affected plant length at 28 and 35 DAP. In the addition, the combination of 300 kg/ha Ultradap and 225 kg/ha KCl significantly increased bulb weight. When applied independently, 300 kg/ha Ultradap significanty increased root length, whereas 225 kg/ha KCl significantly improved both root length and bulb weight. Among the treatment evaluated, the combination of 300 kg/ha Ultradap and 225 kg/ha KCl exhibited the most favorable effect on shallot growth and yield.
