Abstract

This study examines the effect of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), exchange rate, and tariff on Indonesia's total export performance for the period 2022Q1–2024Q4. Using secondary time-series data sourced from BPS, Bank Indonesia, and the World Bank, this research employs Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) multiple regression analysis. The results show that FDI does not have a statistically significant effect on export performance, suggesting that FDI inflows into Indonesia are not yet predominantly oriented toward the export sector. The exchange rate also shows no significant effect on exports, implying that Indonesia's export dynamics are more driven by global commodity demand than by rupiah fluctuations. In contrast, tariff is found to have a significant and positive effect on exports, indicating that domestic tariff policy has supported industrial competitiveness and national export capacity. Simultaneously, FDI, exchange rate, and rate together significantly influence Indonesia's export performance (F-statistic = 4.621; p = 0.037), with an explanatory power of 63.4%. These findings highlight the importance of integrated policies on investment, exchange rate stability, and trade policy to sustain export growth. Future research should consider additional variables such as commodity prices, inflation, and partner country growth
