Abstract

Turnover intention is a human resource issue frequently faced by companies and has the potential to disrupt operational continuity and reduce work productivity. This study aims to examine the effect of competence and training on turnover intention through job satisfaction as a mediating variable in permanent employees in the CLC operational division. This study employed a quantitative method with a Likert scale. The sampling technique employed was saturated sampling, with all 107 permanent operational employees as respondents. To analyze the data and test the hypotheses, a Partial Least Squares (PLS)-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method was used with the aid of SmartPLS software. The results of this study indicate that competence has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention. Training also has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention. Job satisfaction significantly mediates the effect of competence on turnover intention, and job satisfaction significantly mediates the effect of training on turnover intention.
