Abstract
The sustainability of the irrigation system in supporting agricultural activities is not only determined by the physical condition of the irrigation network, but also by the participation of farmers in maintenance activities through the Water User Farmers Association (HIPPA). This study aims to analyze the physical condition of the irrigation network in the Gede Irrigation Area, Widang District, analyze the level of participation of HIPPA farmers in irrigation network maintenance activities, identify factors that influence farmer participation, and recommend programs to strengthen sustainable irrigation management in Widang District. The sampling technique used Proportional Stratified Random Sampling, with a sample size of 88 HIPPA farmer respondents. Data analysis methods used include descriptive analysis, quantitative descriptive analysis with a Likert scale, multiple linear regression analysis, and interpretative descriptive analysis. The results of the study indicate that the physical condition of the irrigation network is in the severely damaged category with a condition value of 37.92%, while the level of participation of HIPPA farmers in the three HIPPA groups is classified as active, with an average value of 3.93 Loh Jinawe, 3.64 Jara Raya, 3.52 Tirto Mulyo. Meanwhile, age, farming experience, land area, distance from residence to irrigation channels, and distance from rice fields to irrigation channels significantly influenced farmer participation, while the number of dependents in the family did not. Based on these results, sustainable rehabilitation and maintenance of irrigation networks and strengthening of the HIPPA institution arerecommended to support the sustainability of the irrigation system.
