Abstract
Sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) is a strategic horticultural commodity, yet its productivity in Indonesia (6-8 t/ha) remains far below the optimal potential yield (10-12 t/ha), so national demand still relies on imports. This study aimed to determine the effect of dose and application frequency of the liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) "Azriel" on the growth and yield of sweet corn. The research was conducted on the rooftop of the Darul Ulum Mojosongo Islamic Boarding School dormitory, Jombang Regency, from April to June 2026, using a two-factor factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. The first factor was LOF dose (0, 10, 20, and 30 mL/plant) and the second factor was application frequency (3, 4, and 5 times). The results showed that the combination of LOF dose and frequency interacted very significantly with almost all growth and yield parameters. The combination of 30 mL/plant with a frequency of 5 times (D3F3) consistently produced the highest performance, increasing plant height by 7.65%, stem diameter by 46.43%, husked ear weight by 34.29%, seed weight per ear by 96.53%, dry stover weight by 71.39%, and harvest index (0.58) compared to the control without LOF at a frequency of 3 times. LOF dose and frequency also had a very significant single effect on all observed parameters. This study recommends applying Azriel LOF at a dose of 30 mL/plant with an application frequency of 5 times to optimize the growth and yield of sweet corn.
