Abstract

Tourism village development often faces financial constraints that limit destination development and the sustainability of its business model. Crowdfunding has emerged as an alternative financing mechanism that not only provides financial support but also encourages community participation in tourism development. However, studies examining crowdfunding from the perspective of the Business Model Canvas (BMC) in tourism villages remain limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of crowdfunding in strengthening the business model of Ketapanrame Tourism Village. This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes), tourism village managers, local business owners, and community members. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña and interpreted through the principles of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) and the Business Model Canvas. The findings indicate that crowdfunding is implemented through a community-based investment scheme that involves local residents as financial contributors and development partners. Crowdfunding strengthens several Business Model Canvas elements, particularly Revenue Streams, Key Resources, Key Activities, Customer Relationships, Key Partnerships, Channels, and Value Proposition. Beyond increasing financial capacity, it enhances community participation, strengthens collaboration among stakeholders, and broadens tourism promotion through digital and community-based communication channels. These findings demonstrate that crowdfunding functions not only as an alternative financing mechanism but also as a strategic instrument for strengthening the tourism village business model and supporting the sustainable development of Ketapanrame Tourism Village. Keywords: Crowdfunding, Business Model Canvas, Community-Based Tourism, Tourism Village, Sustainable Tourism.
