Abstract
Ngawi Regency is one of the largest rice-producing areas in East Java Province, whose sustainability faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze the development of harvested area and rice production, identify paddy field use based on irrigation type, and analyze the correlation between paddy field area and rice production in Ngawi Regency from 2016 to 2025. The methods used include the least square method, descriptive analysis, and Pearson correlation, using secondary data from Badan Pusat Statistik. The results show that harvested area is projected to increase, while rice production shows a declining trend over the next three years. Paddy field use tends to be stable and is dominated by irrigated fields, although it began to decline in 2025 due to land use conversion. The Pearson correlation results show no significant relationship between paddy field area and rice production (r = 0.220; p = 0.542 > 0.05), indicating that factors other than land area may have a greater association with rice production levels in Ngawi Regency.
