Abstract

This study is motivated by issues arising in marketplace transactions using paylater services, where transactions are cancelled by the marketplace while financing charges remain imposed on consumers due to discrepancies between the marketplace and financing company systems. As a result, consumers do not receive the purchased goods or services but continue to bear payment obligations. This situation raises legal issues concerning consumer protection and the legal liability of financing companies. This research employs a normative legal method using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that consumer protection is provided through preventive and repressive legal measures. However, no specific regulation governs disputes arising from system discrepancies between marketplaces and financing companies. Furthermore, financing companies may not impose charges on consumers for cancelled transactions and are obliged to restore consumers' rights.
