Abstract

PT XYZ faces product defect issues that may affect the quality of floating fish feed products. This study aims to determine the percentage of defect s, identify their causes, and propose quality improvement recommendations using Seven Tools and New Seven Tools methods. The study utilized production and defect data from August 2025 to January 2026. The results showed that total production reached 337 tons with total defect s of 29.5 tons. The identified defect s consisted of oversize (31%), color inconsistency (25%), undersize (24%), and moisture defect s (20%), with oversize being the dominant defect . Human and machine factors were identified as the main causes of defect s. Priority improvement recommendations include developing inspection standards, calibrating measuring instruments, inspecting extruder machines, and controlling dryer conditions. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to reduce defect levels and improve the quality of floating fish feed products. Keywords: Quality Control, Floating Fish Feed, Seven Tools, New Seven Tools, Product Defect.
