Abstract
The abundant cassava peel waste produced annually in Indonesia poses an environmental problem that needs to be addressed immediately. This research aims to utilize cassava peel waste into a value-added product, namely liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The fermentation process with the addition of EM4 (Effective Microorganisms 4) and molasses is expected to increase the NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) nutrient content in the resulting LOF. Based on previous research, LOF from various organic materials has been proven effective in improving soil quality, such as improving soil structure, increasing cation exchange capacity, and providing nutrients needed by plants. Thus, LOF from cassava peel waste has the potential to become an alternative organic fertilizer that is more environmentally friendly and sustainable. The utilization of cassava peel waste into LOF not only reduces environmental problems but also provides economic benefits for farmers. The resulting LOF can be used to increase crop productivity, reduce dependence on chemical fertilizers, and produce healthier and safer agricultural products. Furthermore, this waste utilization also supports the concept of sustainable agriculture and a circular economy, where waste is processed into valuable resources. Keywords: Cassava Peel Waste; Liquid Organic Fertilizer; EM4; NPK; And Organic Fertilizer.
