Abstract

Processing organic waste into eco-enzyme at UMKM Mamah Endut is still carried out manually, which often produces inconsistent solution quality and poses a safety risk of pressurized anaerobic gas accumulation inside the container. This study aims to design an eco-enzyme fermentation quality control system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using the Type-2 Fuzzy Logic method to handle the uncertainty of environmental parameter fluctuations. System development uses the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method, which includes a DS18B20 temperature sensor, MQ-135 gas sensor, and analog pH sensor, as well as Peltier cooling actuators, water pumps, solenoid valves, and buzzers controlled by an ESP32 microcontroller. The test results showed that the temperature sensor had an error percentage rate of 0.42%, and the pH sensor had a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) in the range of 0.187 to 0.238. The Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Logic algorithm control system with Karnik-Mendel type reduction successfully provided actuator activation decisions with 100% precision. Data transmission to the Blynk IoT platform also ran stably with an average latency of 1.0 seconds without packet loss, and this prototype was successfully implemented on a real eco-enzyme fermentation object. It is concluded that this system is proven to be reliable and effective in maintaining the stability of the quality and safety of the fermentation process automatically, and can be monitored remotely.
