Abstract
This field industrial practice (PKL) report outlines the operational processes and engineering specifications at PT Petrokimia Gresik's Production Department III B during the period of March 1 to June 30, 2025. The practice primary focuses on the manufacturing processes of Purified Gypsum and Aluminium Fluoride, as well as their supporting utility units and environmental management systems. Purified Gypsum is produced by washing phospho-gypsum, a byproduct of the phosphoric acid plant. The Aluminium Fluoride unit utilizes fluorosilicic acid and aluminium hydroxide through a sequence of exothermic reaction, The plant’s continuous operation is maintained by comprehensive utility units, including raw water treatment (Lime Softening Unit), Demineralized Water production (Ultrafiltration-Reverse Osmosis and Mixed Bed), steam generation via Coal Utility and Waste Heat Boilers, power generation (STG-30-TP-6101/6102), and compressed air supply. Furthermore, strict Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) protocols based on the AKHLAK values, along with integrated waste treatment facilities (Effluent Treatment Section, ESP, and Fluorine Scrubbers), ensure regulatory compliance, process efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
