Abstract
Inclusive tourism aims to provide equal opportunities for all individuals, including visitors with special needs such as people with autism and visual impairments, to enjoy tourism experiences. Mpu Tantular State Museum, as one of the educational tourism destinations in East Java, has implemented guiding services for inclusive visitors. This study aims to identify the practices of inclusive tour guiding at Mpu Tantular State Museum, particularly for visitors with autism and visual impairments. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with three museum guides and one teacher from a special education school as a supporting informant. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Mpu Tantular State Museum has provided supporting facilities, including Braille-labeled collections, tactile replicas of museum objects, and a dedicated room for visitors with visual impairments. In practice, the museum guides apply adaptive communication by adjusting the delivery of information to the characteristics of the visitors and collaborating with companions to create a safe and meaningful tourism experience. However, the guides' competencies in serving visitors with special needs are primarily acquired through practical experience rather than formal training. Therefore, it is necessary to enhance the capacity of museum guides through specialized training in inclusive communication and the handling of visitors with special needs in order to improve the quality of inclusive tourism services at the museum.
