Abstract
The Human Development Index (HDI) is an indicator used to measure the success of human development across the dimensions of education, health, and a decent standard of living. Improvements in human development quality are influenced by various factors, including government spending on the education and health sectors, as well as the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Jombang Regency has shown an upward trend in HDI over the past few years; however, further study is needed regarding the influence of these three factors on the HDI. This study aims to analyze the influence of education sector spending, health sector spending, and GRDP—both individually and simultaneously—on the Human Development Index in Jombang Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data in the form of time-series data for Jombang Regency covering the 2016–2025 period, obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS). Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation), followed by multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and the determination of the coefficient of determination using SPSS version 22 software. The results indicate that education sector spending has a positive and significant effect on the Human Development Index, and GRDP also has a positive and significant effect on the Human Development Index; meanwhile, health sector spending has a significant effect on the Human Development Index, but with a negative relationship. Keywords: HDI, education sector, health sector, GRDP
