Abstract
The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has encouraged the use of chatbots in learning, one of which is through the integration of Meta AI in the WhatsApp application. Although the level of Meta AI usage among students is relatively high and shows potential in supporting English language learning, research examining the intention to use Meta AI WhatsApp in a learning context remains limited. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the intention to use Meta AI WhatsApp using a modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving undergraduate students of English Study Programs at State Universities (PTN) in Surabaya who have used Meta AI on WhatsApp, with a total of 428 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS version 4 software. The results indicate that awareness, social influence, and perceived enjoyment have a significant effect on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. In addition, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and personalization significantly influence intention to use, while personalization does not act as a moderating variable. Thus, the acceptance and intention to use Meta AI on WhatsApp in supporting English language learning are influenced by perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, awareness, social influence, as well as the direct effect of personalization on intention to use.
