Abstract
This study aims to analyze the social presence of the audience in the interactions during the Marapthon Season 3 Live streaming. In the digital era, Live streaming platforms create new interaction spaces that not only facilitate entertainment but also form unique patterns of social relationships among the audience. This research employs a qualitative approach with a virtual ethnography method to delve into the interactive experiences of the audience. Data were collected through participatory observation of audience interactions during Live streams and in-depth interviews with informants representing the Marapthon Season 3 audience. The results show that the audience's social presence is manifested through the intensity of digital communication, the formation of group solidarity, and the acceptance of norms applicable within the virtual space. Furthermore, it was found that the audience holds a permissive attitude toward the commodification of private spaces by brands, such as the penetration of vape and alcoholic beverage sponsors, and is aware of the dualism in utilizing philanthropy (charity parties), which is often viewed as the industry's moral shield. The conclusion of this study confirms that the interaction in Marapthon Season 3 is not merely content consumption, but a complex process of social construction where the audience's comfort in interacting often overlooks ethical boundaries regarding the commodification practices carried out by the organizers. Keywords: Social Presence, Virtual Ethnography, Live Streaming, Commodification, Audience Interaction.
