Abstract

Gili Eco Trust faced digital engagement challenges due to fragmented information flows across social media, Google Forms, and websites, leaving reservation and donation management handled conventionally. This study aimed to apply the Design Thinking method to design a functional UI/UX interface for the Gili Eco Trust mobile ecotourism application for Tourists and Staff. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with 10 respondents, mapped into empathy maps and user personas. Initial testing on the Tourist group demonstrated optimal performance with a 100% Success Rate and a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 92.5 (Excellent). Conversely, the internal Staff group scored a 96% Success Rate and an SUS score of 77.5 (Good). Based on Heuristic Evaluation by 3 experts, major usability problems were identified at the micro-level, with the highest severity ratings found in the absence of a translation feature (3.67) and text inconsistency (3.00). Redesign actions were executed through information architecture reconstruction, design system implementation, and language menu integration. Final testing proved a significant increase in the staff group, achieving a perfect 100% Success Rate and an SUS score of 88.0 (Excellent). Consequently, this prototype was declared valid and ready for the next development phase. Keywords : Ecotourism, UI/UX, Design Thinking, System Usability Scale, Heuristic Evaluation.
