Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Internship Program is a learning initiative designed to provide students with practical work experience through direct involvement in professional environments. This internship was conducted at PT. Tethagra Adyatama, serving as the Construction Management Consultant for the Patra Surabaya Hotel Construction Project. The project involves the construction of a multi-story hotel using the Design and Build delivery system, with the participation of various stakeholders, including the project owner, design consultant, quantity surveyor consultant, construction management consultant, and contractor. Throughout the internship, the intern gained practical knowledge of construction management, quality control, time management, cost control, and the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) practices in construction projects. The internship activities included project administration, supervision of structural works, material quality inspection, technical document review, monitoring of spun pile foundation installation, implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures, environmental management, and evaluation of construction activities to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards. In addition, project documents such as the Cost Estimate (RAB), Technical Specifications (RKS), Bill of Quantity (BoQ), project schedule, and other administrative documents were reviewed as part of the construction control process. The internship results indicate that the implementation of construction management functions in the Patra Surabaya Hotel Construction Project has been carried out in an integrated manner through effective coordination among all project stakeholders. The systematic management of quality, schedule, cost, occupational safety, and environmental aspects contributed to the successful execution of the project in accordance with the planned objectives. Overall, this internship provided valuable practical experience that strengthened the intern's understanding of the application of civil engineering theories in real construction projects while enhancing analytical, communication, coordination, and professional skills necessary for a future career in the construction industry.
