Abstract

This Professional Practice Project focused on the technical planning of the Purimas Guard Post in Surabaya, a one-story security facility designed to support access control, environmental monitoring, and information services within the Purimas residential area. The project aimed to provide students with practical experience in preparing integrated construction planning documents in accordance with professional architectural standards. The planning process included a literature review, architectural and structural design development, preparation of the Detail Engineering Design (DED), quantity calculations, Work Unit Price Analysis (AHSP), Cost Budget Plan (RAB), and Work Plan and Technical Specifications (RKS). The resulting DED consists of site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, structural details, door and window details, roof plans, interior visualizations, and supporting construction drawings. The guard post was designed with an emphasis on security, spatial efficiency, operational convenience, user comfort, ease of construction, and building maintenance. Based on the quantity calculations and unit price analysis, the estimated construction cost was IDR 125,777,740, rounded to IDR 125,780,000. The preparation of the RKS further established the required materials, construction methods, quality standards, and technical requirements for project implementation. Overall, this professional practice project improved the students’ understanding of the relationship between design documents, technical specifications, and cost control, while also strengthening their accuracy, coordination, teamwork, and professional responsibility in producing accountable construction planning documents
