Abstract
Mangrove ecosystems play a vital role in maintaining the balance of coastal environments. However, the dissemination of information, educational resources, and public articipation in mangrove conservation activities still faces various challenges. The Indonesian Mangrove Foundation (Yayasan Mangrove Indonesia Lestari) requires a digital platform capable of providing centralized conservation information while facilitating community engagement in conservation initiatives. Therefore, this study aims to design the user interface of the MangroveJakarta.id website as a mangrove conservation education platform using the Lean UX method. The design process began with identifying user and stakeholder needs through interviews, followed by the development of proto personas, user stories, sitemaps, user flows, and a design system. Subsequently, low-fidelity wireframes and a high-fidelity prototype were developed using Figma as the Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The resulting prototype includes key features such as mangrove conservation information, event registration, mangrove damage reporting, community interaction, educational blogs, notifications, and administrative functionalities for content and conservation data management. The evaluation process employed usability testing using Maze, the System Usability Scale (SUS) questionnaire, and heuristic evaluation based on Nielsen’s usability principles. The testing results indicated that the prototype achieved a success rate of 94.28% for users and 100% for administrators. The efficiency score reached 94.1% for users and 100% for administrators. Furthermore, the SUS evaluation yielded an average score of 86.67, corresponding to Grade A and an adjective rating of Excellent, indicating that the prototype possesses a very high level of usability and is well accepted by users. Findings from the heuristic evaluation were utilized as the basis for design improvements to enhance the overall quality of the user interface. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Lean UX method successfully produced a website interface design for MangroveJakarta.id that aligns with both user and stakeholder needs while achieving an excellent level of usability. The proposed website is expected to support the dissemination of information, environmental education, and community participation in mangrove conservation activities more effectively.
