Abstract
This research was grounded in the school's need to navigate the transformation of educational institutions, which now emphasized not only public service but also marketable value to compete with other schools. On this basis, sound governance and management became essential tools for creating effective, efficient educational services. This research examined the implementation of Good School Governance at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo, a leading, high-achieving school in Sidoarjo Regency, using OECD's Good School Governance theory, which comprises eight principles. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through interviews, observation, and documentation, with informants selected through purposive sampling based on their capacity and capability. The research findings showed that SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo successfully implemented the concept of Good School Governance, as evidenced by the fulfillment of all eight existing principles through concrete techniques, methods, and real field implementation. The active involvement of each stakeholder added significant value, making the school's governance systematic and well-structured, both clearly and effectively. This research concluded that sound school governance generated substantial positive impacts, felt not only by school members but also by the broader community. Moreover, the school's marketable value and competitiveness developed positively alongside good governance, thereby enabling the school to sustain itself amid existing competition.
