Abstract

The tourism industry is a rapidly growing sector, requiring all stakeholders to play a role in its development. Vegan tourism is one type of tourism being developed by Thailand, a tourism actor, using various methods. Under the auspices of the Tourism Development Strategy, Thailand is developing vegan tourism using responsible tourism, public-private partnerships, and experiential marketing. Responsible tourism is the core concept behind vegan tourism, public-private partnerships are collaborative efforts between the government and the private sector to develop vegan tourism, and experiential marketing is an effort to market vegan tourism internationally to attract tourists. This study uses qualitative methods to describe the tourism phenomenon and several processes within Thailand's tourism development strategy.
