Abstract
Athletics is one of the oldest branches of sports, encompassing the categories of running, jumping, and throwing. This sport plays an important role in advancing sports achievement in Indonesia. Sidoarjo Regency, as the main buffer area of Surabaya, holds significant potential for the development of athletics, as reflected in the number of athletes, sports communities, and various achievements at the provincial to international levels. However, this potential is not matched by adequate facilities and infrastructure that comply with the standards set by World Athletics (IAAF). Therefore, an international-standard athletics facility is needed in Sidoarjo Regency, capable of supporting training and competition while also serving as a representation of Sidoarjo's identity as a region with a strong sporting tradition. The design of this sports center employs a symbolic approach through the metaphor method in an effort to represent the characteristics of athletics, such as strength, speed, and endurance. The results of this design are expected to produce a facility that is functional, meets international standards, and serves as an icon and symbol of sporting progress in Sidoarjo Regency.
