Abstract
Poverty in Sampang Regency remains a serious development challenge, as the region has the highest poverty rate in East Java Province. This study aims to analyze the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR), and education level on the poverty rate in Sampang Regency during the 2010–2024 period. This research uses secondary time series data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The analytical method used is multiple linear regression, with GRDP per capita as a proxy for regional economic capacity and Literacy Rate as a proxy for education level. The results show that GRDP per capita, OUR, and Literacy Rate simultaneously have a significant effect on the poverty rate. Partially, GRDP per capita has a negative and significant effect, while OUR has a positive but insignificant effect and Literacy Rate has a negative but insignificant effect on the poverty rate. These findings indicate that strengthening regional economic capacity is an important factor in reducing poverty in Sampang Regency.
