Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of the City Minimum Wage (MSE), Population Density Level (TKP), Average School Length (RLS), and Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) on the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in the City of Bandung. The research uses a quantitative approach with secondary time series data for the 2014– 2024 period obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the City of Bandung and related agencies. The analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression preceded by a classical assumption test. The results of the study showed that partially the Population Density Rate had a negative and significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate, while the City Minimum Wage, Average School Age, and Labor Force Participation Rate had no significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate. Simultaneously, the four independent variables had a significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate with a determination coefficient value of 72.39%, which shows that the variation in the Open Unemployment Rate can be explained by the research model of 72.39%, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside the model. These findings suggest that population density in the city of Bandung has the potential to create economic agglomeration that increases labor absorption, while the influence of minimum wage, education level, and labor force participation on unemployment rates has not been seen significantly during the study period.
