Abstract

Global economic trends have led to increasingly intense business competition, a situation that requires manufacturing companies to optimize operational productivity and corporate performance in order to ensure business sustainability. This study aims to analyze the impact of capital structure and firm size on profitability, with inflation as a moderating variable, among manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2021–2024 period. This study employs a quantitative approach. The data used consists of secondary data obtained from the financial statements of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2021-2024. The sample size used in this study was 74 companies, selected using purposive sampling, resulting in a sample of 296. The data analysis methods used in this study are multiple linear regression analysis to test the direct effects between variables and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) to test the role of inflation as a moderating variable, with data processing assisted by the SPSS application. The results of the study indicate that capital structure contribute to profitability. Furthermore, firm size does not contribute to profitability. Testing of the moderating variable indicates that inflation does not contribute to the relationship between capital structure and profitability. Inflation does not contribute to the relationship between firm size and profitability.
