Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effect of Domestic Investment (PMDN), Foreign Direct Investment (PMA), Labor, and Government Consumption on Economic Growth in East Java Province. The observation period covers a 30-year span from 1996 to 2025, utilizing secondary time-series data sourced from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and the Ministry of Investment/BKPM. The analysis method employed is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) co-integration approach processed through EViews 13 software. The simultaneous test results (F-test) indicate that all independent variables collectively have a significant effect on economic growth in East Java Province, with a probability value of 0.000000 (< 0.05). Partially (t-test), Domestic Investment (PMDN) exhibits a significant negative relationship with economic growth in both the long run and short run due to its capital-intensive characteristics. Foreign Direct Investment (PMA) is proven to have a significant positive effect on economic growth driven by technology spillover mechanisms. Meanwhile, the Labor variable shows an insignificant negative impact in both horizons, confirming the occurrence of the Law of Diminishing Returns caused by low marginal productivity of local workers. Government Consumption is found to have a strong and significant positive effect, acting as an effective regional fiscal stimulus (countercyclical buffer). The Coefficient of Determination (R^2) is recorded at 0.894102, meaning that 89.41% of the variation in economic growth can be explained by the model.
