Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Indonesian seaweed production, the Rupiah-to-US Dollar exchange rate, and international prices on the volume of Indonesian seaweed exports to China during the 2012–2024 period. Indonesia is one of the world's largest seaweed exporters, with China serving as the primary destination, absorbing over 83% of the export volume. The analytical method employed in this study is multiple linear regression, with seaweed export volume (in tons) as the dependent variable, and seaweed production (in tons), the Rupiah exchange rate (IDR/USD), and international prices (USD) as the independent variables. The results indicate that the regression coefficients for all three independent variables (production, exchange rate, and international price) are positive, suggesting a direct relationship between increases in these variables and increases in export volume. However, statistical tests reveal that seaweed production, the Rupiah exchange rate, and international prices do not individually exert a significant influence on the volume of Indonesian seaweed exports to China. This study is expected to serve as a reference for policymaking regarding seaweed production, exchange rate management, and international pricing strategies to enhance export performance.
