Abstract
The agricultural sector is one of the primary sources of livelihood for rural communities and is highly dependent on environmental and climatic conditions. Weather uncertainty and natural disasters such as floods can reduce agricultural productivity and adversely affect the economic conditions of farming households. In Pucangarum Village, Baureno District, Bojonegoro Regency, recurring floods have resulted in declining crop yields, affecting household income, household financial management, farming capital allocation, and the sustainability of agricultural activities. This study aims to explore the experiences of rice farmers in managing household finances, understanding the use of farming capital, building household financial resilience, and implementing Green Financial Behavior in their farming practices. This study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive phenomenological method. Informants were selected through purposive sampling, consisting of five rice farmers as key informants and three village officials as supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the Colaizzi method with the assistance of NVivo 12 software. The findings indicate that farmers adjusted household expenditures, prioritized essential needs, managed debt obligations, and utilized remaining income to maintain their household financial stability. In managing farming capital, farmers relied on loans, agricultural insurance, and various flood risk mitigation strategies. Household financial resilience was strengthened through additional sources of income, social and economic support, and their perseverance in continuing farming as their primary occupation. Meanwhile, Green Financial Behavior was reflected in efforts to maintain soil fertility, clean agricultural land after floods, and preserve land productivity. These findings suggest that farmers' financial management strategies are not only oriented toward meeting short-term economic needs but also toward strengthening household financial resilience and ensuring the sustainability of farming activities.
