Abstract
Marine turtle conservation at Bajulmati Beach not only serves as a means of species preservation, but also as a medium for education, recreation, and the potential development of a sustainable marine tourism attraction. This study aims to examine the implementation of marine tourism principles in turtle conservation activities at the Bajulmati Beach tourist attraction in Malang Regency. This study used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, with informants selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the implementation of marine tourism principles at the Bajulmati Beach tourist attraction has been carried out through three main principles. The educational principle is implemented through conservation activities involving tourists and volunteers (aspirants), the Nature School program, and learning media such as 3D dioramas made from recycled materials. The principle of natural resource conservation is realized through careful management of the conservation area, zoning, coastal vegetation planting, and efforts to maintain the cleanliness and sustainability of turtle habitats. The code of ethics principle is applied to managers, tourists, and the local community through rules for handling turtles, prohibitions against touching turtles directly, restrictions on access to the core conservation area, the application of 3R practices, and community involvement in maintaining the beach environment. Keywords: marine tourism, turtle conservation, nature-based tourism
